Fundraising Committee Volunteer – Info Tech Research Group

As part of Info-Tech Research Group’s Fundraising Committee and Charitable Giving Initiative, I work closely with our head of Corporate Social Responsibility by participating in periodically occurring group volunteer sessions where we work on identifying/voting on specific global non-profit organizations that Info-Tech colleagues should consider prioritizing from a charitable donation perspective.

⭐Key Highlight⭐
In our annual reported fiscal year of 2022 alone, thanks to the generous donations of Info-Tech colleagues and feedback from the Fundraising Committee, as an organization, we managed to raise $18,500 [CAD] for Canadians Feed The Children (CFTC). CFTC is a registered Canadian charity, (based in Toronto, Ontario) that envisions a world where children thrive free from poverty.
CFTC is an NGO that is focused on poverty alleviation for developing countries such as Bolivia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda, and as well as for disadvantaged communities in various Indigenous communities across Canada. CFTC coordinates and manages programs that are primarily targeted toward food security, including nutrition, education, and capacity-building (among others).

Assisted in note-taking to help individuals with learning-related disabilities. Volunteer note-takers play an important role in supporting students with disabilities to achieve their academic goals.

• Participated in note-taking activities across a variety of different courses. Including (but not limited to) Business Statistics, Macro-Economics, Business Law, etc.
• Liasoned with the Universities Academic Accommodation Support center to monitor support of note-taking activities, provide occasional supervision/team meetings when necessary, and ensure that students are receiving notes in a timely fashion and a mutually agreed upon format.
